Embed SVGs when compiling the HTML (static, PHP, whatever) and CSS to colour
If you’re still looking, I may be able to help. I did something very similar to this a while ago, though I used a different search library. It was a big-ish 11ty site with a custom search form, including find as you type, keyboard support, and what not. The project was mothballed and is not public so I can’t post the link, but I have a copy and can send it to you privately over email or something. :)
@Meyerweb Apologies if you’ve figured this out or I’m otherwise unhelpful, but I’ve done something like this in the past. If refactoring the SCSS variables throughout your stylesheet isn’t too much, then this might work for you

@patrickklepek Not much of a story, but my oldest daughter — I think 8 at the time — was able to compete and thanks to the Giant Bomb-coined phrase Mario Party Bullshit, was able to win. Getting 2 stars in a single turn in our home is known as “some real MPBS”. My youngest, by 2 years, haaaates competitive games but enjoys watching. My oldests’ best friend never played a video game before, but thanks to MPBS was able to win. Fuckin Mario Party

@alansuspect I’ve never used Vercel or Netlify so I don’t know how it compares, but I’m pretty sure Cloudways at least supports auto-publishing from a gut repo. I usually just publish the Eleventy build folder directly from my IDE ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@SaraSoueidan Apologies if you’re not looking for recommendations, and feel free to disregard, but if you haven’t tried CodeKit (Mac only) I heartily recommend it. I think it’ll do everything you’re looking for. I’ve loved it for years for saving me from tooling and config files.
