Here's reproducible code. Note the deselection of the rows when the alert is presented. By the time an action is performed by the Alert buttons, the selection is empty.

This is a first. With iPadOS 26, the Settings app now supports multitasking. Previously, it never supported Slide Over or Split View, and you could only switch it from portrait to landscape orientation but still in a regular width horizontal size class.
Now, Settings is completely resizable. I don't know when you'd want it as part of your multitasking workflow, but now it's an option.
