TIL that it is not advisable to brown a meringue by putting it under the broiler. I smelled smoke and opened the oven to find the entire cake on fire. It took a lot of breath. to blow it out.

Back to school time! Here’s essential school supplies, according to my 10th grade homeschooler.

I cannot possibly recommend this book highly enough. It is about everything important. I’m going to reread it slowly side by side with the Psalms for my morning devotions for a while, and I’ll see if I can find some good snippets to post here. It wins my “Most Important Book for Christian Devotions by a Non-Christian” lifetime award.
