If you're going to be a shitty person, go for it. Just be honest that you're a shitty person. Own it.
The intro to the #SuperBowl quite literally made me nauseous. Don't you dare use King and the First Nations like that. What happened to #EndRacism, hmm? It's revisionist history bullshit.
Am I the only one watching the #SuperBowl and seeing the incredible irony in all these messages about unity as one of the most oppressive leaders we've ever had sits in a suite at our expense while an oligarch dismantles the largest aid provider in the world?
It’s going to be a lot harder to believe amused by overhyped silly ads when they are shot through with fascist propaganda, harder to care about personalities in a stadium holding a cruel and narcissistic king.

My skeets from the last Super Bowl are going around and I’m thinking how that time was almost optimistic. It was easier to believe that it wouldn’t happen here. But it’s happening. If you ever asked yourself “if it happened here, what would I be prepared to do,” now is the time you will find out.

Bluesky Social

The last few weeks have really highlighted just how fragile corporate social media is, and just how beholden to political power it is. To build any sort of ground-up power we must continue to invest in decentralized alternatives that are resistant to intervention

Decentralized Social Media Is the Only Alternative to the Tech Oligarchy

The TikTok ban and Donald Trump's rise to power show how fragile our social media accounts are. We must normalize and invest in decentralized social media.

404 Media

There's days like yesterday where I feel the weight of all of history that we have failed to learn from, and the depth and breadth of all that is wrong with us.

And there's moments like just now, where I catch my almost 5 year old "reading" (reciting from memory) his favorite books to his 4 month old sister, and they're both grinning ear-to-ear.

Here's to doing my best to not lose sight of the good in the midst of all the bad.

The annoying nerds who said you should install Linux, use decentralised social media, use Signal secure messenger were right.

Control of our own computing is a prerequisite for freedom.

The internet *is* real life.

"Any religion that professes to be concerned about the souls of men and is not concerned about the slums that damn them, the economic conditions that strangle them, and the social conditions that cripple them is a dry-as-dust religion."
"We must learn that passively to accept an unjust system is to cooperate with that system, and thereby to become a participant in its evil."
