I Look at Elon Musk, and I See a Failing Autocrat

I look at Elon Musk, and I see Donald Trump. I tracked broken norms and our near descent into authoritarianism during the Trump era, and I find the similarities between these two men astounding.

The brain death of #twitter

I'm using the immersive reader and having the article read to me. What an amazing time to be alive

We’re witnessing the brain death of Twitter

An analysis of Musk’s tweets shows him at the center of conversations once kept on the fringes of Twitter.

President Trump's staggering record of uncharged crimes - CREW | Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington

Donald Trump has been credibly accused of committing at least 56 criminal offenses since he launched his campaign for the presidency in 2015.

I've decided I must get political for the future of civilization. It must be done.

I call for schools to start later. It's brutal kids have to get up this early. It's only this way because "they" want it this way. We must fight, or at least go to PTA meetings.

Forgive me for being so radical. I feel the time has come and I alone can fix it by texting.

A woman was arrested for "chemical endangerment" for using drugs while pregnant. The problem: She wasn't pregnant. So officers released her, but told her if she gets pregnant in the next few month she will be re-arrested.

The people who told us we were overreacting when Roe was overturned were never arguing in good faith and also they were very wrong.

Alabama case over mistaken pregnancy highlights risks in a post-Roe world

An ongoing lawsuit in Alabama typifies the far-reaching criminalization of women enabled by some anti-abortion ideology and the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling overturning Roe v. Wade.

Day 4 sans caffeine. Initial observations:

Mild headaches basically throughout the day. They seem intermittent so hopefully will subside soon.

Weight training sessions require a little more willpower than they once did, especially toward the end.

Aches and pains much more noticeable. I think I knew caffeine had pain relief benefits, but I'd forgotten.

Sleep quality improving and crashing after caffeine wears off obviously gone.

So overall, meh.

To recap, the Republican Party is against:

-Paid sick leave
-Paid family & medical leave
-Universal childcare
-Universal pre-K
-Tax increases on corporations & the rich
-The expanded Child Tax Credit
-Student debt relief

Doesn't sound like the party of the working class to me.
