Studying computers, working with computers.
(using my old nic for the old time sake.)
Learn by doing: Don’t use linked clone on vm: You need the ability to change disk space, when working with network lab. 😅

Well, if nothing else, I’ve managed to understand the error message: Apparently it is something to do with the location and which path the docker uses when copying. Maybe next week it nudges forward and I’ll get the UPF (User Plane Function) built. Then I can try to find issues with the NRF and why it keeps getting cancelled.

Yep, I’m still determined to use docker for building my 5G network.

Sometimes the time is not on your side: used this evening battling with GitHub and trying to remember how to use it. Long brakes between working with certain tools is not optimal. 🫣

Oh well, maybe I’m able to forward the 5G core build this weekend 🤞if not, I need to go back to the drawing board and go through the whole base and see why it couldn’t compute the cache key in the first place. (I thought I would be smart and use a different version - not.)

Such annoyance: I was able to create the base image for the 5Gcore I found interesting (after 1 hour of debugging in vain the Dockerfile… just try turning VM on and off again first!!).
Well, turns out running the images was not that simple, it failed to calculate one checksum and now I need to troubleshoot where’s the issue for that. 😂 I hate leaving the project now, but life is calling. Might be able to continue with it the next week. 🤷‍♀️ honestly, I would probably need some time off for this.

(My goal is currently to try running basic 5G core to figure out how it functions and then to build my own lab.)

Visited with my colleague at our old upper secondary school a.k.a high school to tell the young ones of how fab working in cyber security is.
