@robinssci There used to be a fair number of these goannas around Mirboo North when I moved here 30 odd years ago. I always had to keep a sharp eye out when jogging in the bush.

Haven't seen any lately myself but a friend has one hanging around his place near Boolarra. Glad to know there are still some about.

True story, my dad had one run up his own body once (it panicked and thought he was a tree) but then, Dad was rather tall 🤣
