Looking into doing the F-Gas qualification and tooling up to do aircon stuff as when we get onto it at the unit..... we are gonna have a LOT of units >.> and it'll be cheaper in the long run if I can do the install and servicing >.>

And getting registered so I could do friend's stuff too <.<

Is looking to be around 5-8K for training and tooling. >.>

Today I am 40 years young.

It has been..... an week™
So there's not going to be much fanfare.

Going over to the unit for a bit to sling some cables.
Then going out for a quiet meal with FoxShape.

Been making..... *Gasp* More permanent buildings in Satisfactory.

Fuck me the auto connection thing for belts and pipes is a godsend now >.>

Given that this corridor contains 12 belts, 4 pipes and 2 hypertubes >.>
The train tracks I have to add myself. But those are much less arduous

You can tell it's a more permanent structure..... I've gone to the trouble of putting supports in >.>

In my Portable Puzzle Collection, it was recently (a few weeks ago) the 20th birthday of the game "Mines": a reimplementation of Minesweeper which ensures every grid can be solved by reasoning rather than guesswork. The first click in a completely blank grid is guaranteed to be safe, and to open an area of more than one clue, and after that, you can always identify a safe square to open next by thinking about the currently visible clues.

This makes it possible to generate grids with a much higher density of mines than standard randomised Minesweeper, such as the example shown here with 99 mines in only a 16×16 grid. I actually didn't predict that this would be possible when I wrote the grid generator originally: I only expected to be able to play on settings like the standard Windows ones, without those nasty last-minute frustrations. The ability to turn up the density by more than a factor of 2 was a very pleasant surprise – my algorithm was far more effective than I had anticipated!

The odd thing about Mines is: in the past 20 years, this one game has received far more bug reports about insoluble game instances than any other puzzle in my collection. Very likely more than all the other games *put together*.

But not one of those reports has turned out to be a real bug in the grid generation. In cases where they sent a save file or a game ID, I generally played through the game myself to make sure; if they only sent a screenshot, I've always at least pointed out something I could see in the picture. *Everybody* who sent this kind of report turned out to have missed something.

Happy 20th birthday, Mines!

A change of headwear for the Drgn.

Brought one of dad's dress beret's back with me.

The wall.... I have hit it o.<

Is too hot and sticky to work right now. and my heart/mind aren't in the right place o.<

What doesn't help, is that they've closed the main road to the unit for THREE FUCKING MONTHS to get the secod to last bypass roundabout done.

Normally this wouldn't be an issue. However, the official diversion route is NEARLY AN HOUR and THIRTY FUCKING MILES o.<

Bear in mind... It's a 7 mile trip, and takes about 15 minutes usually.

The only other options are the back lanes. And this being buttfuck nowhere, backlanes are either:
Single track lanes with passing places OR
Single track lanes (with passing places made by cars diving into hedges)

And because the drivers around here share a braincell...... They do full national speed limits on said roads.

So I find them really REALLY stressful >.<

Oh well. time to go brave said roads and try and not kill someone

It is far too hot and sticky ATM O.<

I have made it to the unit.
I sat down to have breakfast.......

Now I can't get up o.<

Just had my first "I don't know that. I know, I'll ask mum.......oh" -_-

Scanning a load of pictures of mum. Got snaps dating back to the 60's o.o

Also found all my primary school pictures >.>
