@RobF I know someone who is making a videogame with 'AI generated' images for all of its artwork. The argument was 'I couldn't afford to pay someone to make this quality of art and this the only way I can make this game' .. I mean, forget about ethics. It's commercial grade art for FREE! *sigh*

Waiting for my Twittar data file to become available to download, so that I can get a 3rd party service to delete all my tweets. There are over 26k tweets on there, so it's not really something I can do myself. And I refuse to leave them all up for the new owner.

Had a quick sesh on Dirt Rally (1) this morning. Sometimes I forget just how good this game is and then I load it up and I'm absolutely buzzin' by the end of it. I don't think I feel as good in any videogame as I do razzing the Peugeot 205 flatout down a country road in Dirt Rally. It's absolutely brilliant! My all time fav game next to Pac Man.

How to migrate from one Mastodon server to another without losing followers:

1. Sign up on new server
2. On NEW server: Go to Account -> Moving FROM another account
3. Enter old account's handle
4. On OLD server: Go to Account -> Moving TO another account
5. Enter new account's handle and submit

Dear #TwitterMigration folks, an important tip on #privacy on the fediverse:

There is none.

This is a public medium; please treat it as such. Just as you have no privacy on Twitter (Elon Musk can read all your DMs), you have no privacy on the instance you’re on (your administrators can read all your posts).

You can set the visibility of a post but that’s a viewing suggestion, not a privacy guarantee.

Think of your posts as postcards, not sealed letters, and you should be fine.

@sinbad After seeing this, I had an interesting convo with my son about how he they'd covered nothing in school about modern tech. They cover things like who invented the telephone and the first computer but nothing about how we got to where we are from there. So we had a little history lesson on modern computers.. punch cards, assembly, ARM, programming languages, 80s computers etc.. 🧐 fun!
