Elixir nerd. Obsessive cook. Bakery owner (nokucheese in Mizonokuchi)

I'm from Seattle, but I live in in Kawasaki, Japan. Come fly with me.

I'm on a train

https://Salus.jp has a feature on Mizonokuchi restaurants that features my shop. It's a monthly free magazine distributed at train stations operated by Tokyu and just came out today.

Coincidentally, today was the first decent sales day I've had in August. Can't credit the article, alas. The neighboring department store, Marui, was closed, and people who otherwise would have been seeking lunch or cake there stopped at my shop.

Getting more satisfying results than a few days ago with my potato bread. A bit more work to do with the shape, but the flavor is satisfying. Random strangers tried it and gave positive feedback, so I'm excited I might be able to sell non-sugary bread in Japan!
I've run into this or a variant of this residency question on at least two corporate bank account applications. I am by US standards a full-time resident of Japan, but I still have to file US taxes. The asterisk here about where I pay taxes confuses me. Am I "Japan only" or not?
This is perhaps the first time I've gotten one of these instant message scams in English. I don't know what the scam is, but it's clearly dodgy. They're usually sent to me in Chinese for some reason. I decided to have a little fun.
One thing that I wonder about the recent flurry of Whatsapp job scam spam is if they're sending the spam in English to everyone, or if there was a data breach somewhere that allows them to predict the right language to use. This is targeting my Japanese cell phone number (also, phone number as ID is my main reason for not using Whatsapp in practice; i installed it for two specific people 4 years ago)

New-to-me predatory scam: My LLC annual report is due this month. I've put it off for a couple weeks. Now I'm getting email offering to "help" me fill out the paperwork.

Washington state normally charges $60. This company tacks on a fee of $159 for a form that's even messier than the official one.

Thought I'd go to the gym, or maybe head out for a drink tonight.

Then I managed to make a deep gash in my thumb from the lid of a can I managed to more-than-graze while washing some dishes during dinner prep. It's Cuban rum-hai at home time, I guess.

Light day after a not so light week.
As a small child, I used to have a stuffed animal toy dolphin. I named it Dolphin. This bar? Same energy. #BarBooze #Yōga #setagaya #用賀
