@noelfb Well, isn't this the whole linux philosophy in a way? To be left alone (not abandoned, just giving you some alone time, to let you know what you are doing.) Sure, more documentation and support is a must, though I thought that linux is more about being your own. Figuring out things and having the joy of figuring out things. Honestly I just think these kind of stuff as Game engines and Game Frameworks. More control, a little bit more work to do.
