I know, right?
I’ve just discovered Octavia Butler, actually from a Mastodon recommendation. Finished the 2 Parables, waiting in a library queue for Kindred. Butler is a mind blowing thinker, way ahead of her time. On par with Margaret Atwood with a Black feminist sensibility.
AfroFuturism + Sci Fi. Octavia E. Butler's Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents. I'm a little late to the party, but ... wow!
Finished the parables on Sunday, and today I started reading Make Shift, 12 SciFi stories written during the first year of the pandemic.
I understand where you are coming from, but there is also a middle ground.
I've had indoor/outdoor cats for decades and hope I never have to keep my cats indoors 100% of the time. Several years ago, I built a controlled outdoor environment that works in my suburban neighborhood.
We now have a multi levels catio, including a catwalk 8' in the air that leads into a lower garden with a climbing tree and safe perch for bird watching. It's a win-win.
@Ronico And here's MY Sirius Black but this guy goes by his full name because he's so danged serious all the time. That's him in my avatar, too.
I'm captivated by all these black cats. Everywhere, all at once. Here's mine.
