Hi @BryanLunduke ,it will be very interesting to hear from @RubenVerborgh about decentralization and his mission regarding that on the show
If you think the only reason to use a self-hosted social network is if you want to circumvent the laws, you're making the same argument as only wanting privacy if you've got something to hide. YouTube ran an algorithm to delete "extremist videos" and accidentally irreversibly deleted a bunch of historical evidence of destruction of Syrian historical sites. Shit like that happens all the time when someone else is in charge.

We do port Ubuntu to other devices, but at the moment we are focusing on the OnePlus One, FairPhone 2, Nexus 5, and devices that have been officially supported by Canonical.

This means that right now, we aren't taking requests for devices, if you're skilled enough to port yourself, and wish for some help, then we're more then happy for you to ask questions, but we aren't taking requests for ports at the moment.

@BryanLunduke Decentralize all the things is the hype now and ubuntu mobile is dead.Isn't it the time we start talking about a GNU mobile /iot os with completely decentralized services? the tech begind decentralizing the net is still maturing but as soon as someone starts working on the concept, it will give an other expansion to where this tech is going. a network of open hardware + open source software. that's a whole different univers of awe!!
I've seen MANY people suggest that it would be good if users could choose to block an instance themselves, and not have that on the instance level. I'm not sure if that's actually possible, though?
is anyone using #tusky on #Android ? it doesn't show images . Do you have the same issue?
