It occurs to me that I have never properly introduced myself to this platform, so here we go! musician, recovering southerner/alcoholic/something else, probably. Interested in all forms of music with a focus on Enka, Luk Thung, drone ambient, and just about anything gamelan. This is the stage name that i use for performance.

Also, I like plants, tea, and dogs.

On this day in 2013 my debut album Travels saw the light of day.

Inspired by the dark ambient work of Steven Wilson's Bass Communion I wanted to make a soundscapes album with bass guitar as the sonic source.

The album has six long pieces, and a solo bass piece that I had written years before the release of the album, called "Below".

The album is still available on CD on my Bandcamp page. 😊

Make the weird, difficult, broken, ugly (or gorgeous, textured, inviting and warm) creation you were always afraid to make. The world needs you to be weird, now more than ever.

My final semester of undergrad starts on Monday!

It is the culmination of 25 years in 3 states, 3 majors, 4 schools, a marriage, and about 6 career paths.

Students think that I am a professor when I walk in. Professors occasionally look to me for historical accuracy when talking about the 90s… because even they weren’t born yet.

It’s pretty neat, actually! I am wise. Wise by default, but still wise!
