South bay expat marooned in Nowhereville CA north of the BA. Thanks tech invaders for driving up housing prices. Now go home.

Semi-pragmatic to a fault.
Grounded. Maybe too grounded. Fitness adjacent. Science enthusiast. Back to the occasional beer.

My niece thought that her grandparents could use an orphaned brother and sister cats. While it was a bit of an adjustment at first. These two clowns are growing into their own as mousers.

Something that you should remind yourself about life from time to time is that strawberries always rise to the top in a bag full of frozen berries.

This is not a metaphor. I mean this literally. I don't like it when all the strawberries are gone and all I got for my smoothie is raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Everyone brings something to the table so don't discriminate.

The front window of my house is a bit hazy on the outside and needs to be washed. But I'm not going to do that. Despite that it's almost spring, I know damned well that if I do clean it, a heavy rain will come within the next few days and tear up the place. So hail no! β›ˆοΈ
I bought this stove back in Dec of 2023 and to this day I still get upset when there's a spot on it. That said, I do eventually get around to cleaning it.

On occasion before a YouTube video starts, I see Elizabeth Warren asking for donations for the DNC. Then my mind shifts how she is the absolute worst spokesperson for this as I associate her with all the other ineffective elites that couldn't figure out how to keep Trump from getting to where he is today.

The takeaway here is that they'll never get a dime from me until they show some leadership and start producing real results. The fact that the DNC decided to choose her of all people to ask for donations is proof to me that they still don't get it.

Tax returns (federal and state) hit my checking account this morning, and I'm suddenly flush with good feelings and positivity. And I gotta say that this was quick as well as good timing. One of my CD accounts is maturing on Saturday, and I'll be reinvesting into another six month CD that will include my returns.

I need to be quick about that too before I start getting weird ideas about purchasing a drone or a trip to Las Vegas or both.

Quite the day today. Over 5 inches of rain in 24 hours at my house. I feel like a wet rat. Is it Friday yet?

Right now my kitchen is on the precipice of chaos. It's at that point where I have plenty of clean spoons but very few clean forks. Plenty of large plates but very few clean bowls. In other words the kitchen is in a state of imbalance where I'm running out of certain utensils while the dishwasher is still about half full (or empty). As a resident of a drought prone region, I can't bring myself to run the dishwasher until it is full. This happens a lot when I'm doing intermittent fasting.

First world problems.

Woke up this Sunday morning with a poison oak rash on my left forearm. The only possible time I could have been exposed to this would have been on Thursday.

There's some disadvantages to being insensitive to poison oak such as possibly of spreading the oil onto my bed sheets and pillow cases and not realizing it until the rash finally takes hold. Three or more showers since Thursday obviously didn't help.

I've been feeling kinda down lately with all that's going on in the US. I've been seeing lots of suggested shorts on YouTube that seem to bring me up a little. Thus I've decided that I will re-watch the Game of Thrones series on HBO Max. That should brighten my day. That and I accidentally let my annual renewal get by me before I could cancel it.

Dragons and Super hero movies for an entire year now. πŸ™„
