The only way my comment was racist is that it accepts that people can be and are classified as black or white. Just like the OP.

and is definitely much higher than for white people.

That’s not necessarily true. While blacks are shot by police at a higher rate than whites, blacks are also arrested by police for violent crimes at a higher rate than whites. If you adjust for apparent difference in violent criminality by race, it suggests that police are actually more willing to shoot whites than blacks.

Now, it is possible that the data is bad, that the bar for arresting a black is so significantly lower than for arresting a white, as to give incomparable racial violent crime rates by which to estimate how often police shootings might occur. Similarly, it is possible that blacks are more likely to display exaggerated passive body language for fear of being shot, while whites are more likely to present themselves in an ambiguous or hostile manner as they don’t believe it is likely they will be shot.

However, an argument in favor of what the data suggests, is that police shootings of blacks are far more likely to result in protests, riots, and rare criminal prosecution of the police, while police shootings of whites, no matter how unjustified, never receive such responses.

I meant you can drive on the lakebed with whatever you were driving down the interstate in, you’re not limited to wind power.

I believe that’s Ivanpah Lake, which is on the California side of the border.

Anyone can drive out there. Easy access from the truck stop parking lot, assuming a truck hasn’t parked in front of the dirt road. You just pull off the interstate and take a rip across the lakebed, fast as you want. Though it’s a good idea to check that it’s thoroughly dry first. In addition to a heat mirage hiding surface water, there’s a hazard of the surface being sun baked dry but it being muddy underneath the crust.

I’ve encountered the argument for Estadounidense from Mexicans, but it falls apart when you counter that the name of their country is Estados Unidos Mexicanos.

If you’re really feeling like putting the screws to them, point out that while all of the USA is America, Mexico Valley is a very small part of the territory of their country, and is itself named after the Mexica people that inhabit it. So rather than translate Estados Unidos Mexicanos as the United Mexican States, it would more accurately be the United States of the Mexica Empire.

Then you can ask them if they’re Mexica, or from one of the conquered territories.

First off, they generally don’t have guns. Unlike Israel, which conscripts their youth and makes them wander around their cities with rifles, the US military is quite keen on gun control.

Secondly, the US military has long been fascist, and has a well-refined system to encourage loyalty. They supply housing, healthcare, a higher discretionary income than average, with benefits that increase if you get married and have children. Once you’re out, you get funding for education, and preferential hiring, both from the government, and private employers via tax credits.

The US has slowly been building a warrior caste, which will only become more pronounced as the economic and social upheaval of the Industrial Revolution dissipates and feudalism reasserts itself.

It sounds like you’re experiencing suicidal ideation. I would suggest that you check yourself into a mental hospital, voluntarily, then request to be given anti-depressants. They’re somewhat notorious for initially relieving your depression just enough that you’re still feeling hopelessly depressed, but now have the willpower to try to kill yourself. I think you’d be better off away from your family, under professional care, while seeing how you react to medication.
To be fair to Miller, he only advocated for the Nazi death camps, not the pointless wars. Can’t really blame him for not being the only evil whispering in Trump’s ear.
Plenty of people aren’t aware that gyp comes from gypsy, but that doesn’t change the origin or meaning of the term.
There’s no way to interpret it as anything other than an ableist slur. It simply isn’t a cause célèbre to complain about in the US.
