I just found out when it comes to copyright, works of the governments of the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the 'organized territories' (incorporated or unincorporated) are considered U.S. Government works.
This means that code I write as a DC gov employee is CC0 1.0 Universal public domain
