@phil42 are you aware of #pixelfed ? I'm not sure the best way to contribute to it, but it's the photo sharing fediverse option.
@peterhagen @graham_knapp Isn't that the point, though? Python's strength is that it's loaded out the ass with powerful efficient libraries to do a lot of the underlying heavy lifting. Those are part of what Python is at this point. With those libraries in place, your actual Python code allows very quickly prototyping and executing different projects, with minimal implementation time and a low proportion of your heavy code using slower native Python code anyways.
@DaveMasonDotMe They can't pay him. Tatum/Brown/Porzingis/Rob/White/Brogdon cost 150M already. The aprons are punitive going forward. 13 million on a guy who's somewhere between 7-9 in your rotation is a luxury you can't afford. You have to take whatever anyone is willing to give up.
@mattb @gnarkotics @jwildeboer @opensuse that's not what the GPL is. The literal second you have another license with any restrictions at all not in the GPL as a prerequisite for receiving the code, your distribution of the code is unlicensed. Red Hat by definition is stolen code the second any other license is required to receive it.
@gnarkotics rebuilding code with no changes is an unconditionally protected right the GPL grants lol. Or not rebuilding and sharing. They're the core purpose of the license.
@conservancy It's seriously gross and very obviously not in the spirit of the license. I think it's extremely questionable whether it's permitted by the license at all and desperately hope they get chewed to shit in court over it.
@arstechnica That keyboard looks awful, especially for the kind of productivity user who needs two screens, and vertical dual monitors aren't great compared to horizontal. If it was bezelless and turned into a giant tablet I could see the appeal, but i don't like the design functionally at all.
@Schwartzies I like Smart, but watching last year Porzingis I'm starting to get pretty hyped for this trade. They're going to have to adjust defensively, but he adds a lot of versatility on offense. The picks for guys who didn't do anything is a bonus.
@[email protected] I'm not deleting my account until I'm sure they won't restore my content like they're reportedly doing to some people, but I took Apollo out of the folder on my dock and haven't/don't intend to use it.
@arstechnica I was expecting the start to be super barren with the Vision Pro as the dev kit for the eventual non-pro lower cost version, and wanted it for that purpose. If they're making a concerted effort to have software ready on launch I'm even more interested. The price tag is steep but for what it is it's probably pretty aggressive.
