No I will not debate you on the ethics of ICE school raids to kidnap kids & strike into them the fear of a tyrannical government.

And if you find yourself defending such fascism, expect a block—and remember that at no point in history were the people who justified targeting children the good guys.

Jason Crow: "You cannot tell me that releasing militia leaders, insurrectionists, criminals back onto the street because it's what you did to placate your political base makes us any more safe ... it's creating an environment that gives permission to extremists to be more bold"
Rep. Jason Crow: "I don't want to hear Donald Trump or JD Vance or anyone else in this administration talk about backing the blue, talk about supporting law enforcement, when they just released over 1,000 cop beaters."

UK gov is proceeding with plans to outlaw public bodies (NHS, schools, councils etc) and critical infrastructure orgs from paying ransomware groups, and barring other private companies from paying certain ransomware groups - also requiring in law all payments be disclosed to government.

I think this is a massive step forward and fully support - we should try changing things up instead of doing nothing but fund serious organised crime.

I know many are skeptical about the need for clean energy.

Some don’t believe climate change is real – they're wrong. The clean energy transition is already happening, and the United States must win.

This will shape the future of the global economy and the planet.

Lange was first and foremost a documentarian who saw herself as an activist. Her most famous work was done for the US Farm Services Administration during the depression (e.g., her iconic "Migrant Mother" portrait). She sought to use photography to expose injustice and improve the world.

Adams, on the other hand, saw himself first and foremost as an artist. He sought to elevate photography as an art form.

(They were close, with deep mutual respect.)

It's also instructive to compare Adams' work from Manzanar with that of another great 20th century photographer who was granted access: Dorothea Lange.

Adams took a superficially upbeat approach, portraying his subjects as highly relatable, ordinary Americans making the best of things under somewhat difficult circumstances.

Lange showed them more as victims, emphasizing the rough conditions and fundamental injustice: https://artsandculture.google.com/story/dorothea-lange-39-s-visit-to-the-japanese-internment-camps/fwVR8MHEGsn72g?hl=en

Both were subversive, though in different ways.
