Locke dies today at 16:12.

Be aware of household hazards.
Tampons are a big deal.
Your garbage cans need lids.
Your dog who might get into stuff needs to be tethered to furniture inside when you go out.

My dog Locke had surgery the other day (had to borrow for it).

He was getting better, but now he's got a fever I cant get under control and I'm back at the emergency vet clinic. On the phone they were talking about hospitalizing him. Yesterday when I was here (the fever started yesterday and then subsided and now its back) they said if I had to hospitalize him the ballpark costs would be somewhere around $1720.25CAD for the two day stay with what he needs to get better.

[It was 2587 and 3 days]

After calling relatives from the animal hospital, one was able to borrow the funds to help me pay the people, but it's a lot to pay back on top of the surgery.

If you can help or boost, I've now got a ko-fi drive for his hospital fees. He's been my best friend for a long time, he's such a loving dog.

If there's any extra by some accident after paying his hospital fees I will of course donate it to whatever pet charity people prefer.

So. My dog had an intestinal surgery a couple days ago.

And he seems to be having some recovery complications. Can someone tell me how I make one of those crowdfunding posts to see if anyone is able to help donate money to pay for medical costs?

He's getting better, in several ways, hes less lethargic, hes keeping food down and drinking water again, but he's got a fever I'm having a hard time keeping under control and I find myself back at the vet again and I'm quickly running out of relatives to borrow money from for the medical cots.

How do I set up one of those ko fi donation drive things to try to pay for his medical bills and see if anyone is willing to help?

Hmm. Maybe so. It only seems to happen when I'm running firefox and then try to run photoshop or blender or some other piece of resource-intensive software at the same time, and I didn't notice it happening back before I switched from Brave. I was thinking FF had an annoying memory leak or something, and have been mitigating it by trying to limit the number of tabs I have open (I can get carried away and have a couple hundred open sometimes if I'm not vigilant), and also restarting Firefox frequently.

But it could also be a system issue of some kind. I don't really want to format and reinstall. But I might if the issue persists and reinstalling firefox doesn't help.

We don't have proportional weights to representative seats either; but I don't think we have the voter suppression you guys do, and gerrymandering isn't a thing here anymore. I understand that one was solved in the 1960s for us.

I know here, there's a lot of PR support for the NDP across the country, but it's diffuse and not concentrated to key areas, and so the number of seats they get are minimized as a result.

Our current PM got elected on a lie of electoral reform that would follow the advice of an independent commission. He didn't like what the commission said (he wanted ranked ballot, not mixed-member proportional rep) - so he then 'took it back'.

True. But with a PR system and many parties that are made to cooperate, if the people move away from it, they'll have no voice in government, right?

Whereas with the system here in Canada (which I understand to be almost the same as the one in the US), you have only a couple choices, and if you don't like any of them, too bad for you.

That I did not know. All I knew about was the power of each party being strictly limited by the amount of support they have, and that they have a many-parties proportional representation system rather than some variety of first-past-the-post.

Which to me, seems to be a prerequisite to having actual representation.

Assuming you haven't blocked me for whatever unstated mystery complaint you had about me:

A broken clock is right twice a day.

If a fascist correctly describes global warming and agrees the earth is round, and N95 masks help protect people from Covid, we don't have to all start crowding around unmasked to talk about how climate change isn't real and the earth is flat just to contradict everything they say.

If we did, those same fascists could just factually state anything they want us to not be allowed to talk about, and then we're not allowed to talk about it ever again. Wouldn't that be a useful weapon to give them! (I'd rather not).
