When I have talked to them about some of these things, they largely agree that we need to reign in big business when you explain it to them. They don’t like banks. They do like billionaires or think they are smart.
Basically, they would most likely be, in part, in favor of it. We just need to ensure that they do not have an outsized influence on the decisions that would come after.
I explicitly do not want to fix this system. To attempt to fix this system, within the system, would take literally a century. It is inconceivable to me that we could get past the blatant corruption and bureaucratic rot that is at every level of our government.
The only answer is to strip it to the foundation, and then dig that up as well. We need a new constitution, a new Congress of states, perhaps the states should go as well, to be restructured for the new world that we are entering. Florida could be literally underwater year-round by the end of the century. The southwest will be out of water as the Colorado river dries up. The midwest could very easily slip into another dust bowl due to heat stress on grasses. We need to account for these things when we design the new social contract, because this one is dead.
It’s this timelines Double-Speak.
Doubleplus ungood, citizen.
Is it the god of an organized religion? Do you call yourself a believer in that religion even if you don’t “support” it?
Which God? There are thousands. Judeo Christian God? Yeah you support the degradation of society. Doesn’t matter which denomination. You want to tell me how you can have a personal connection with someone else’s hallucination?
Your belief in the organization legitimizes dangerous and corrosive beliefs. It legitimizes the power structure that oppresses. It legitimizes the act of turning off your brain. Your adherence to its rules legitimizes even it’s more rabid and extreme flanks.
You cannot participate in organized religion without harming society.
But those do not include organized religions that have holy books written about ancient hallucinations.
Spiritualism is fine (generally) but it can still lead to delusional thinking. As in, verifiably false conclusions.
If you can look around at the results of allowing religions to dominate society for thousands of years and tell me that you think it’s going well, or even that we have a good chance of surviving the century as a species, then I don’t think you are a fully functioning human being.
I don’t know what the objective truth of the world is. But what I do know, is that that truth has never been ordained to earthly man by a burning fucking bush or whatever the fuck your particular religion dictates.
Arguing over interpretations of the hallucinations had by uneducated people thousands of years ago is not just pointless, it promotes a level of ignorance worship that is highly corrosive to a functioning society.
Not antisemitism. Anti theism.
Fuck all of your gods into the fucking earth.
Respectfully to you, fuck that.
I don’t hate Jews specifically, but fuck every single religious person. I am done with it. How many time do we need to see genocides or wars or just bombings that are solely motivated through religious indoctrination? You may say that they are misinterpreting the words of the Lord or whatever horseshit, but as far as I am concerned every interpretation is exactly as valid as the next because it is all make believe nonsense.
Everyone is playing pretend and then get upset when some people use that to steer the “play” into FUCKING MURDER!
MAYBE STOP PLAYING PRETEND EVERY FUCKING DAY YOU FUCKING MORONS!
If anyone says that their worldview is shaped by their religious beliefs, it is my view that they are a danger to the public should they hold public office.
Every. Single. Time. I don’t care what those beliefs are or what your motivations are. Religions are fucking toxic in every iteration.
