Adventure is Nigh! is the project I get the most excited to talk about.

Not only because I think it’s good but because of the collaboration. Sure, I think up scenarios and draw the maps but it’s working together with my players that the story is really fleshed out. Driving from their backstory, yes-ing their decisions, listening when they suggest a better idea than I had.

Here’s the penultimate episode of Season 2… one of the best stories I have a part of making.

A consistent but minor gripe about the D&D combat system was that you could use your action to gain more movement BUT you couldn’t sacrifice your movement to get another action. It’s a little thing but seemed like a inconsistent double standard.

Well with all this OGL talk I started looking at Pathfinder… and sure as shit they have a way to do that built in.

So while an open community and honoring past agreements is important… I really want the 3 “do things” points system.

As it turns out, the Steam Deck case also makes for a decent dice box when traveling.

Also, I didn’t win but I did get a nice score.

Amazon’s “Rings of Power” series is dry, dull, and requires that you already have a relatively deep knowledge of the history of Middle Earth.

But I love it, because I love “Lord of the Rings” and I dig just being in that world a little longer.

Is this how those Star Wars fans who loved the prequels felt!?!?!?

Am I legally obligated to write bloated rebuttal blog posts to negative reviews that I see now!!!!?????

There is a “Made-for-Disney-TV” movie called “Christmas …again?!”(2021)
It’s a Groundhog Day-like, time loop story as told for the perspective a 12 year old girl wanting the PERFECT Christmas Day.

It’s sloppy and cheap and feels like it’s 4 hours long… but:

It’s really hits the Groundhog Day notes hard and correctly.
Even as far as the child having an existential crisis on the meaning of life and happiness.

It’s not a good movie but it’s interesting to see the Time-Loop genre branching out.

Christmas morning was lovely and filled with joy.

My lovely wife, who knows nothing about Dark Souls, gifted me this Mushroom Parent ornament.

Rewatching “Ernest Saves Christmas”(1988) this year with the family.

It’s SO LOW BUDGET!!

Varney’s charisma and character are out of this world. It’s a movie about a teenage runaway hanging out with an unemployed taxi driver and because of Vaney’s performance… it never seems weird.

I love this movie, but based on the wife/kids reaction… it’s going to move down the holiday “Must Watch” list.

Rolling a flat 10 is very On Brand for me.

I’m working on a “John Wick” style script called “South Bend”.

It’s about a family man who has to take out a growing mob presence in his Chicago neighborhood.

To keep a low profile from the village’s inept cops, he uses the weapon he knows best… his shovel.

Yes, this is a Home Alone prequel about Old Man Marley.

There’s a couple reasons why I shouldn’t like the new Willow show and I went in I little curmudgeonly.

But then some weird ass monsters show up, the outfits are Baller-High-D&D-Fashion, and there is like 3 charmingly horny Val Kilmer-like roles.

…I’m sold!
