When you look in the mirror, you deserve to hear, "Hey, Beautiful." If you don't hear it in your voice, hear it in mine.

Your strength is incredible. You come from a long tradition of transgender people, stretching back to the earliest days of humanity.

Turkey actually goes with ginger and fish sauce like chicken does??? Wow.
Except it's 2-3 times fattier so in the future I'll go lighter on the chicken bouillon...

I was just asked:

"Can I ask more about how you broke into the field? I dropped out of art school and it feels like there aren't many paths to proffesional gigs without the connections"

I'm a high school dropout who entered the field while living in a rural town of 600-ish folks. Zero connections -- unless my pet rooster was an agent and I never knew about it.

Success is partly luck outside of your control, but only you dictate your volume of work. I made tons and posted it everywhere.

More work in the world = better odds of people seeing it. That part of the equation is entirely up to you.

The most interesting food thing I've learned recently is how to use vodka or other hard liquor to help make pie crust:

Make your crust like normal, but replace half of the water with the liquor, and it will be a much more flaky, delicate crust (and the alcohol is baked out of it).

The theory behind it is that the starch will stay suspended in the liquid, but since ethanol doesn't promote gluten formation, it stays more delicate.

An apple brandy would add amazing flavor, too! #foodknowledge
