I experimented with some watercolor in the studio today attempting to emulate the way Maxfield Parrish painted mountains. He used oils and layers of varnish between the colors. The dark color was done first, then the lighter color. What I learned from this is that it would be better to put the lighter color first. That way I can better define the shapes of the rocks and valleys. #watercolor#maxfieldparrish
Lisa and I were out and about today and went over the mountain to Old fort North Carolina. Stopped at a gallery, I fell in love with this and bought it. The artist calls it "crazy cat."
