You don’t know this, at least I don’t think you do, but today is National Terry Day! You do know that I celebrate you every day, right? This is just a bonus day to let the whole world (at the very least, my readers) know the brilliant person you are!
To those who will read this post, who don’t know who she is, let me tell you about Terry, and I hope you will celebrate her too. Just a few things among the many reasons why she deserves to be celebrated – she is wicked smart, loves deeply, you won’t catch her getting played, feels deeply AND understands more than anyone else I’ve known who’s dealt with some stuff, stands her ground, knows her worth, and is a caring and supportive mensch. Despite all the shit life has and continues to throw at her, she still manages to keep her world more stable than three-quarters of the 8.3 billion people inhabiting this earth.
Terry, you are to be celebrated in my book because for me you healed a wound, filled a void and remained (TO THIS DAY!) the person who was always there for me when I needed her. AND the person I look up to with admiration and respect that grows deeper every day. Most importantly, you have ALWAYS accepted me exactly the way I was, whether I was wonderful to be around, a whiny teenager, or a sobbing adult. You loved me, cared about my existence in the past and present, and helped me protect my future. I love you for being the friend you are. You ARE the purest example of what friendship looks like.
