- Votes are still being counted.

- Democrats did much better than expected. Typically the party in power loses seats (sometimes a lot) in non-presidential election years.

- Republicans likely to take the House, but by a slim margin.

- Democrats likely to hold onto the Senate.

- Several Trump-backed candidates in competitive races did poorly and lost.

- Pro-choice forces (who wish to allow abortions) did well in several referendums in various states.

@Rondakaysen We're all waiting for someone at the NYT to print the verb "toot" non-ironically when reporting about Mastodon. 🙂

@joshtpm The turning point will be when the NYT prints something like, "...the White House tooted today their new policy..."
