Freelance #writer, #yarnaddict, & #geekgrrl. I tell stories, knit/crochet stuff, play video games and #steampunk cosplay, not necessarily in that order.
I’m looking for a #womanowned #webhost Any suggestions/referrals?
I honestly don’t recall the last time I was so excited to cast my vote in a U.S. Presidential election!
@OtherRyn I love the concept of New Year’s gifts! I’ve underestimated how long it will take to complete gift projects way too many times! It won’t help for this year, however, I’ve discovered that if I start #knitting next years gifts right after the holidays, I do get some of them finished while I’m still in the holiday spirit (as an added bonus even if I ask folks what they think of a color, stitch/yarn, or pattern they have totally forgotten that by the time the holidays roll around again, so the gift is still a surprise AND something I’m confident they’ll like). Good luck and happy holidays!
@laceknitted @knitting @fiberarts Malabrigo has a book of hat patterns and a couple use sock yarn. They aren’t real warm however they are gorgeous!
@owlmagnet Beautiful colors
@dotty I’d use a long-tail cast on and “lock” the join (cast on 1 more stitch than you need & then pass it over the first stitch to join) as it allows the join to stretch some without as much pulling.
@ezaquarii @adymitruk As a career tech writer (both end-user & developer facing) I can’t tell you the number of issues I’ve helped developers identify before they became major issues. Information developers are the first line of testing and make a point of doing things “wrong/illogically” because we know, somewhere, a user will. Writing clear, concise, useable, engaging, documentation is an art, just like coding is, that deserves more attention and appreciation. It isn’t easy.
