Started reading these earlier this month. I’m about 1/5 of the way through the 7th book. Really really enjoying them.

People's National Party

The People's National Party (PNP) is a social democratic and democratic socialist political party in Jamaica, founded in 1938, making it Jamaica's oldest extant political party. The PNP is the oldest political party in the Anglophone Caribbean, and the party held the majority of seats in the colonial parliament from 1955 to 1962 and the majority of seats in parliament from 1972 to 1980, from 1989 to 2007, and from 2011 to 2016. Prime Minister Michael Manley, who led the country from...

Most likely this person doesn’t like having their hand shaken by you. It could be you or it could just be the shaking in general. Either way, if they’re showing obvious signs of discomfort, why continue the practice?
I don’t know anything about you. But judging from that response I would guess that you’re not neurotypical. And folks who are neurotypical are going to find what you said a hard pill to swallow. Often in life you have to pretend to “fit in”, it’s just the price of living in a society. If you feel like you have to say that, I’d keep it a hell of a lot shorter “I’m really here to get work done in the most efficient way I can. I really prefer to keep my work and personal life separate. If you compare me with other people who feel the same way it would be greatly appreciated.”
I don’t, but all I did was buy a cut price of meteor and some decorative wire and pliers. Practiced wrapping it until it didn’t look awful, then dipped it in the lacquer.

I don’t know how much you want to spend or how many other things you might want to preserve. But they actually make specific lacquers for jewelry.

You can also find them on Amazon.

I bought the one on Amazon, it was absurdly expensive for what it is, but I wanted to protect a slice of meteorite from rusting.

We primarily use it for a replacement or ground beef in tacos, and spaghetti.

Simple taco recipe we use: 1 onion 2 cans beans (any kind you like for tacos) 2 cans tomatoes (whatever kind you like for tacos) 1-2 Tbsp beef bouillon 1-2 packs of taco seasoning 1 cup TVP

Dice the onion. On high heat cook the onion in a large pan with oil to the level you prefer. Add cans of tomatoes and beans and cover. Once it simmering turn the heat down and stir, then leave covered and simmering for 10-20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Remove lid, add 1/2 cup of water, TVP, and beef bouillon and stir until TVP absorbs liquid. Add taco seasoning and stir. Add more water as needed to get the consistency you prefer. Done.

It’s a large rural state. Not much population for how large it is.

To put that in context it has an average of 12.4 people per square mile, whereas Romania has 214 people per square mile.

Being a large state there are exceptions to the population density. I’d look at the population of whatever the nearest city to where you’re going is: …wikipedia.org/…/List_of_cities_in_North_Dakota

And compare it to cities you’re familiar with to get an idea of the size to expect. The west side of the state is dominated by oil wells, don’t know if it’s still like this but you used to see flare stacks (giant flames of venting gas) basically everywhere out there.

The winter are rough, it gets very cold due to the Polar jet stream dropping south of it. Also the majority of it is flat open plains so it’s very windy and the snow drifts really high and roads often become impassable for a while. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_North_Dakota

In my experience the people are a mixed bag just like anywhere else. Some are great some are awful. A lot of the folks I met were super into outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. I would be careful if you’re near or on a Native American Reservation. I wouldn’t wander around alone as folks tend to be less friendly to people that aren’t a part of their community, they’re a historically marginalized population and the recent oil and gas exploration hasn’t done them many favors. They also have their own system of law outside the United States Federal Government, and it can be confusing. (If you’re with someone local you’re fine.)

Lastly Romance Scams are a thing and human trafficking does happen. Before she goes off to the middle of nowhere with someone she should let someone who can contact authorities know, and give them as many details about the person including social media links and emails as possible: attorneygeneral.nd.gov/…/common-scams/

In the US you can call 911 to get emergency services anytime and anywhere. North Dakota has its own human trafficking task force: www.ndhttf.org
