I feel like we are failing the easiest possible trolley problem, where the entire world and all of its inhabitants are tied to one set of railroad tracks, and if we decide to pull a lever the train will just run over a small pile of money instead.

I have another thought about Amazon's AI "ask this book"-feature.

It means

- scanning every book into a database
- analyzing every book for plot, characters, descriptions etc.
- storing reader questions and answers

It's a training ground.

In other words, they are using our books and the readers' interest to train their OWN WRITING BOT.

Why are they doing this?

To cut out the creators. Just like Spotify, Amazon wants to produce AI books that sell.

A couple of good omens on my walk today: a powerful seed and transformative emergence!

Those mRNA vaccine programs that RFK Jr. is killing because he claims they don't work?
The people who invented them got the f***ing Nobel Prize.
And they've saved literally millions of lives already.

RFK Jr. pulls funding for vaccines being developed to fight respiratory viruses

The projects — 22 of them — are being led by some of the nation’s leading pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer and Moderna to prevent flu, COVID-19 and H5N1 infections.

It's a bit hard to know which of the Trump sycophants and cultists is going to kill the most people and destroy the most science, but RFK Jr. has got to be close to the top.

We’re in a moment where healthy, ethical public leadership is profoundly important. Meadville Lombard Theological School and I are offering a 9 month certificate program for people who share a genuine self with the public as leadership work. It’s called “Authentic Leadership and Public Intimacy.”

This cohort program is grounded in research and involves theory, discussion, and practice. If you’re an actor, an activist, a dancer, a clergyperson, a motivational speaker, a sexuality educator, or anyone who shares a genuine self with audiences, please have a look at the website below for more information.

I look forward to exploring our shared work together!

What motivates people to act on climate? The number one reason—across cultures—is love for the next generation.

✅ Good news: A majority of mothers care deeply about climate change—and they vote that way too. Studies show women, especially moms and grandmothers, are among the most engaged climate voters worldwide.

⚠️ Not so good news: Climate change is already harming reproductive health, mental health, and child safety—especially for vulnerable women and children.

👥 What you can do: Join a parent-led climate group near you! From Canada to India and all around the world, moms, dads, grandparents and more are taking action to protect their kids’ future.

As always, please share what you learn this week with someone you know. Conversations are the most powerful missing piece in catalyzing climate action. Most people don't connect what's happening to why it matters, and even fewer know what to do about it.

You can change that!

Climate action for our kids

Mothers care about climate change — and it's putting them and their kids at risk

Terry Pratchett was wise

“For many people, it was their first public step against this ghastly regime of bullies and billionaires. We agree with Zi Teng Wang, who wrote: ‘If you see someone who has never taken any action before doing a symbolic one-day boycott, don’t tell them that their actions are futile. … People need practice doing things!’”

The economic boycott caught fire. What's next?

The economic blackout on Feb. 28 was an important first step. But future boycotts will require these ingredients to be effective.
