How much time drift do ppl normally have in AWS. Just ran an ntpdate on a host that I last ran it on 16 days ago (b/c reasons) and there was 40 seconds of drift.. oof

Turngate - Front end engineer

You will
- Have a unique opportunity to build a novel, scalable, and secure web application that will be the core of Turngate’s product offering
- Be part of a growing Front-end team focused on designing, building, and deploying a unique data visualization capability
- Work with engineering, data science, marketing, and UX to determine design and operational requirements
- Add to and leverage a component library designed to allow Turngate to run fast and experiment with different UI concepts as we mature our product
- Evaluate when to use the right technology for the right job
- Focus on security, usability, and scalability as top priorities when building the product, not an afterthought

You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in front-end development
- A history of building and maintaining Saas-based web applications and/or component libraries.
- A track record of building responsive and engaging user interfaces.
- Expertise in TypeScript and Front-End Development with a deep understanding of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (SCSS).
- Familiarity with source code repositories, particularly GitHub (version control, branching, pull requests, etc).
- Attention to detail and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.
- An eye for building security in… we want to build properly from day one, so ensuring software is up to date, code development rules are followed, and secure development practices are utilized is a must.
- A work ethic aligned to the needs of a startup. No need to have worked in a startup before, and we’re not asking you to work 14 hour days and abandon your real life. However as we grow there will be a lot of things that need to get done that are outside the initial scope of this job description. Being willing to tackle problems that aren’t necessarily your expertise is important to the success of the company.

Bonus points for:
- Front-end development experience in a cybersecurity context.
- Previous experience with data visualization libraries like D3.js, Plotly, or Highcharts.
- Proficiency with React.

OK, so we survived. The recipe was for ground lamb with dumplings. It was pretty good. The wet/dry ratio was off and I had to adjust that on the fly. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out well. A solid “B” recipe. I’ll keep playing with it and see what else it dreams up.

I just asked ChatGPT for a recipe using some random ingredients from our fridge/freezer. And now that’s what dinner will be. Will report back on how it goes :)
