Photojournalist (retired) member of the photography team at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer for 28yrs. My passion is photography, of course. I picked up my first camera when I was about 13 years old. It was a Polaroid swinger. I know I drove my family and most of my friends crazy. As a high school freshmen enrolled in my first class. I’m currently living in rural East Central Washington on the Columbia River. Where along with my wife, I enjoy boating, fishing, hiking, and of course, photography

@GPJohnston there is a couple of Kingfisher near by. They have to be one of the hardest birds to photograph. They are fast, like a rocket. Never hang around long and always just out of range.

Late last night I opened the garage door and found this mantis had found a convenient place to sit and ambush small little bugs

Found this beautiful creature while visiting my daughter last year at her place in Montana.
