Why do people on Rotten Tomatoes feel they need to give star ratings to a movie they haven't seen yet?? (i.e. 5 stars "I can't wait to see this!", or 1/2 star "This movie looks dumb, I am not going to waste my time.")

@hund Yeah, I wasn’t too fond of their approach to contributions in the App Store — kind of a slippery slope. But to put some over-engineered nag scheme into the update process takes it to a whole new level.

@joel I’ve never been a KDE person, but I did run Plasma 5.11 on top of Kubuntu 17.10 just to try it out for about 6 weeks. I was impressed. It seemed very stable and fast with a good feature set. While KDE isn’t my personal preference, I would say that it is a very worthwhile option.

@hund I hate to see this kind of thing happen in the community. It’s really a shame how much energy is expended in these kinds of disputes — when that energy is better spent on writing great code.

@hund I wonder how that is calculated. I probably should research SSD life cycles. I have a few that are getting pretty old as well.
