Hamilton and Leclerc disqualified from USGP - Lemmy.World

I don’t think that was it. The camera direction seems to have magically gotten better after I complained.

If you’re a real F1 fan you know history is full of this kind of dominance.

So … if you wonder who will win it’s not worth watching.

I like to watch Albon doing well, Alonso doing amazing things, and hoping for Leclerc to get a result, Yuki keeping softs alive with some big guns behind him, while teams frantically try to get the best tactical moves while rain might drop now or in 20 minutes, and you don’t know how much.

Software for writing - Boing Lemmy

For those who do write novels, books etc. What software do you use? What format? FOSS or proprietary?

The thing that annoys me with these articles is the wrong emphasis on the value of those munitions. Too many people think that America just gave that as equal in cash to Ukraine.

In truth, probably the largest amount of that value is in the labour, which is done by skilled Americans. Those Americans then then put that income back into the economy by buying American products.

They’re also getting rid of old stocks of weapons that need to be de-commissioned at a real cost to land and the environment (those cluster munitions for instance).

The evaluation of these systems is based on a replacement cost with new ones. Perun said it well with his analogy: “If a tradie was to write off his 25 year old ute at the cost of a new one, that would be classified as fraud.”

Ukraine 'breaks through' Russian defences with Western-trained troops

Ukraine 'breaks through' Russian defences with Western-trained troops - Lemmy.world

Russian military bloggers said Ukrainian forces had managed to breach through defensive lines in places south of Orikhiv, a town around 6 miles north of Roboytne. It is a sign Kyiv has decided to commit thousands of well-trained troops, previously held back in anticipation for a breakthrough, to the assault.

“no Western type of military can really do this sort of combined arms operations at scale, with the exception of the United States. But even the United States Armed Forces would have a very difficult time breaking through these defensive layers because no Western military in the world currently has any experience in breaching the types of defenses in depth that the Russians put up, in the south and east of Ukraine.”

That’s the crux of it. Russia had a year to dig in. It’s very hard to quickly make big gains as a result.

Eve online probably well over 15k hours logged actual playtime closer to 10k lots of idle time. Still the most fun I've had in a game and has helped me be more comfortable talking to strangers and lead people IRL

I don't have a source available but there is a media blackout at the front last reports indicated some gains in north of bakhmut and Russian forces appear to be lacking reserves to shore up there lines according to pro ua sources I last checked.

This could be causing low numbers but also slow days happen at the front. Logistics and moving the rear closer

Interesting to note Atacms not in this aid package
If anyone knows the difference between storm Shadow and Atacms I'd like to know, I'm not versed in specifics of ammunition
