I code. I write. I build Legos. I watch baseball. Fitbit enthusiast. My comments are my own.

@mvaneerde You may exercise your right to free expression and religious freedom UNTIL they impinge on someone else's rights and freedoms.

If you are hired to do a job and can't (or won't) do it, then you should NOT be doing that job.

@mvaneerde I agree. the question whether an athlete is healthy enough to compete is a boolean.

You could rationalize that the question about menstruation is correlated to health, but you could also ask about bowel movements, seizures, etc.

The question about menstruation also pertains to pregnancy and transgender. It is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

While I'd like to go green, I was reluctant to get a Tesla for two reasons.

1. They were grossly overpriced when I first looked.

2. Musk seemed to have the attention span of a goldfish, and I didn't want to get a car that may not be serviceable in a few years.

Now, I'd definitely NOT get a Tesla and give this hypocritical man-child any of my money.

While reading "Biased" by Jennifer Eberhardt, I distinctly remember a passage:

A black police officer working undercover saw a man in his peripheral vision that looked suspicious. Only after starting to follow, did he realize that it was HIS OWN reflection on a window. Even HE perceived a man as being suspicious BECAUSE he was black.

The premise that someone simply can't be biased against their own community is flawed.

To my fellow instance admins:

Please don't tell Black people and other people of color to leave your instance and to go find another that's preferable to them.

That's like telling people to go find another neighbourhood. And you know what that sounds like?

Segregation.

Let's not segregate the Fediverse.

While I agree with you, I'd like to point out genocide ALSO applies to the killing of a cultural group, not just the actual people.

Indigenous re-education schools tried to kill the culture; the kids who died were collateral damage.

Even if there isn't a single fatality, these hateful people would like to destroy the LGBTQ+ community. This too is genocide.

'Conversion therapy' is a good example.

I cannot stress strongly enough that genocides do not start with death camps. That’s where they end.

No, they start with dangerous rhetoric that whips up violence against marginalized groups.

People like Walsh, Pool, Shapiro, Carlson, Raichik, etc. absolutely know this. They are fomenting a genocide against trans and queer folks, and it is working.
