Is the APCu extension enabled?
It's possible that state.json (last_run) isn't being read, is corrupted, or doesn't exist.
We could write a quick brake in APCu and use a small mini-file as a fallback brake pad.
We should also take the general API limits (max 300 requests/5 minutes) into account.
Special limits: 30 media uploads in 30 minutes and 30 status deletions in 30 minutes.
It appears that synchronization is triggered with every request. The response time is noticeably long. It is unclear whether the subsequent delete synchronization in the follow-up request still works. Additionally, there may be a limit built into the API instance.
By default, this is often set to 300 requests per 5-minute window.
For high-traffic blogs, this behavior could lead to unexpected side effects.
It appears that "Beantworteten Mastodon-Kommentar beim Import zitieren" is disabled.
Since FlatPress only allows us to comment on the post (post-comment relationship), Mastodon lets us reply to a reply (without a direct reference to the status). Or is the option not working even though it's enabled?

(Still proud to continue your work - thanks a lot, Edoardo!)
As some of you may have noticed, Iโm working on a Mastodon plugin that acts as a Fediverse bridge. Iโve already implemented the plugin on my blog. However, FlatPressโs request-based operating model has some serious limitations.
You can read more about it in my German-language post.
