When I started out in localization industry in 2002, I remember hearing:
“The Traditional Chinese translation market will be replaced by Simplified Chinese in ten years.”
This week at BP25, the keynote revisited a claim made at the same conference back in 2017:
“There will be no translators in 2025.”
Maybe both predictions captured some truth about a shrinking market and a shifting industry. And yet, here we are in 2025, I’m still translating into Traditional Chinese, still loving this job.
