I’ve been around for a bit. I remember thursday night dinners in SF. Hanging out with the same peeps IRL as in the nascent www world. After quiet quiting fb and twitter 5 years ago and missing nothing, am testing the waters here. Pleasantly surprised by the collegial atmosphere. Mostly listening to and boosting old friends and experts whose work I respect. None of my views are original. If I say something, it came from a reliable source. Good faith corrections are welcome.
Happy New Year!!

Watch this astonishing 1-minute video: A prediction from 1947 of what life would be like once everyone had a tiny portable TV in their pockets.

In 1947, French science fiction writer René Barjavel was asked for a prediction of the future. He imagined a future with cell phones-like portable TVs and electronic communication in the film “La télévision, œil de demain”

Happy 74th, old man…

Yesterday I flew my #kites at the #kitesforfreedom event in Tel Aviv.

Aviv Kutz from Kibbutz Kfar Aza was a kiter. Every year he organized a kite flying event for the whole community. On October 7th everything was ready for this years' event but he, his wife and three children were murdered along with others who were murdered or kidnapped.

The #kitesforfreedom event was held in Tel Aviv and other placed in order to send a message for freeing all who are kidnapped in #Gaza.

#Peace to us all.

I am a member of an Israeli group called "The Lighthouse for the awareness of #Gaza".

Since 2018 we have met every week, a few Kilometers from the border, to keep alive the hope for peace with Gaza.

Today, the third day of a new war in #israel, I wrote a post in my blog about our story, our present and some thoughts about hope.

Please read and share.

Peace to you all.

Edit: A shocking update. 108 bodies of Israelis were found in Kibbutz Be'eri, mentioned in my post.

Modelling data suggests consistent mask use over a 12 month period is more effective at reducing COVID-19 infection, than waiting for a spike in cases.

The findings highlight how the practice can significantly curb the spread of infectious diseases.

Trump tried to overthrow an elected government in 2021, and may actually face justice for it. He's made it clear in his 2024 campaign that he will rule as a dictator if elected.

If Big Journalism won't finally take a stand -- in its news coverage, not just in its commentary -- to protect democracy (and by extension journalism), then it'll be directly complicit.

You can't be a mere observer about some things. This is one of them.
