Despite facing four separate criminal cases with dozens of felony charges, Donald Trump is back on the campaign trail and threatening to turn the United States into a military state. This is cause for alarm: he’s suggested that if reelected President, he would take advantage of ambiguities in the (ironically named) Insurrection Act to deploy the military within Democratic cities and states – an unprecedented level of military involvement in domestic affairs. And this is on top of other extreme campaign promises, including mass deportations, a renewed Muslim ban and curtailing the rights of transgender individuals, designed to attack vulnerable minorities. We can’t give him that chance. Trump should never again be in a position where he can incite an insurrection, direct our military, or implement disastrous MAGA policies.
