@caseyliss Quick Callsheet question: Are the Discover Sections expected to sync across platforms? (Say Vision Pro and Mac OS...) 🤷‍♂️
@caseyliss One problem with MVNOs is that for a long time none of them supported apple watches. There are a few that do now, but the list is small. https://www.apple.com/watch/cellular/ I had to leave Ting mobile years ago because I needed the watch plan.

@atpfm If any of your new iPhone peeps are getting a "Contact AT&T or use the QR-Code" message during setup, they have probably used the myAT&T app to put a lock on their mobile device. They can use the myAT&T app to turn off the mobile lock and reset the new phone. Then they can start over.

Overcast for iOS 26 is now available!

- Adopted iOS 26's native toolbar buttons everywhere

- Simplified miniplayer to fit iOS 26 style and allow faster access to the playback screen as a giant touch target. (If you want the seek buttons back, switch to Classic under Customize Home Screen!)

- Playback speeds are now offered in 0.1 increments from 0.5–3.0

- Lots of little fixes

Get it now in the App Store! (Works on iOS 18, too.)

Synology:

“We’re quiet quitting the home/enthusiast market.”

https://www.theverge.com/news/652364/synology-nas-third-party-hard-drive-restrictions

For me, the net results of this change:

1) My current Synology will likely be my last
2) If it isn’t my last, the next one will be fewer bays. But I will endeavor to make it my last
3) As with the [slow] enshittification of eero, I’m now being pushed into Ubiquiti’s open arms from two directions.

Synology is tightening restrictions on third-party NAS hard drives

Synology will introduce new restrictions on third-party hard drives with new NAS systems later this year that could make first-party drives essential.

@atpfm The 2013 ATP logo isn't S-Tier, it is GOD-TIER! You should all get it tattooed on your butts because it is so good.

@atpfm Back in the day, if you wanted a CRT TV or monitor to be used during filming, it had to be modified to have a 24 Hz refresh rate to prevent visible banding / scan lines. You would sometimes see reference in the credits like “24 frame playback equipment provided by…” Sync boxes were also sometimes used to coordinate the vertical blanking interval and the film shutter closure.

@caseyliss Casey explaining his new home project:
@atpfm You know, if you simply flip your new Mac mini over, then the power button is on the top, you get better Wifi and Bluetooth performance, and possibly better cooling. However, it would be way more vulnerable to Casey’s drink.
