The pipes that Miłosz Kędra used to craft his own organ emulator have lived many lives. They come from churches scattered across Greater Poland—some trimmed for a more presentable façade, others left to gather dust in parish houses until, stripped of purpose, they were cast away.

Doesn't it annoy you that deleting your profiles on Meta platforms can mean losing job offers and various opportunities that appear on the horizon? Are you afraid of that? I see many people moving to alternative social networks, but everyone politely notes that they are "not disappearing from here just yet." I'm doing the same. I'm not gone from there yet. But I really wish I were. It's incredible how much we've allowed ourselves to be tied down.

Anyway—come on!

I feel it should have happen long long time ago, some of us spend half our lives on meta products, giving our data for free and receiving shit and mindfuck + addiction. I feel it's kinda risky (cause you have to be ALWAYS PRESENT) but there is no other way. So happy we still have some alternatives. If we will not nourish it might not be alive in the future.
Hey all! It's us - Pointless Geometry crew = Justyna and Darek. We are new here but our label is 10 years old. To all the newcomers - so nice you are here! We will use this channel to inform you about the music released by PG. Our focus is experimental music from Poland. Talk soon!

**Why I personally chose Mastodon over other platforms as the most sustainable alternative for the future:**

❶ It is not dependent on the whims of billionaires.
❷ It is completely open-source and free.
❸ It is ad-free and does not rely on funding through advertisements or selling user data (unlike VC-funded platforms such as BlueSky).
❹ It is truly decentralized. You can start your own Mastodon server with your own rules and determine how much—or how little—you want to depend on the rest of the network.
❺ If you want to change your Mastodon server, you can easily migrate to another one. For example, if the rules of your current server change in ways you don’t agree with (e.g., excessive censorship), you can switch without losing your connections.
❻ It is part of the #fediverse – an idea proposed by the W3C (yes, the same organization that defined foundational web protocols like HTML and CSS). In theory, users can follow each other across platforms within the fediverse, eliminating the need to be on every single one.

I understand the interface may feel a bit clunky or technical at first, but I think the benefits outweigh these minor drawbacks. All we need now is a critical mass of users to make this viable for everyone :)

dustbin of history for meta is on my mind
