We’re not even going to do an intro this month, we got ourselves some new hardware this month to play with let’s go!
A new high-end test platform is looking to join our suite of hardware. Just waiting for Linux support to be fully baked!
A fun display for why TSO memory model emulation can hurt so much in video games. Many games need to update GPU buffers over PCIe using uncached atomic stores, but you only get reasonable bandwidth with non-atomic stores. This is why sometimes you get >65% CPU time inside of a simple memcpy/memset.
