Waiting for the day Scotland regains it's independence. Follow Scotland, Motherwell & Pollok and Glasgow Warriors, mostly from the couch.
Enjoy Folk Music, reading Crime Fiction, Historical fiction and non fiction and Sci Fi. Oh and Jigsaws, don't forget Jigsaws. 😊
Four months now since I joined Mastodon and I really can't say that I'm much closer to making sense of it all.
The Fediverse is definitely beyond my ken.
As a matter of interest, I always look forward to #CelticConnections and usually go to 4 or 5 gigs while the Festival is on. Being a Glaswegian obviously it's relatively easy for me to do so. How many are there out there who attend any of the Celtic Connection gigs?
During Covid I enjoyed having the option to see some of the gigs online but it didn't have the same buzz. Although I think the online option could be explored further and I'm surprised that it hasn't.
Happy New Year. Good health and happiness to one and all.
All the best for 2023.
Not long now, just a few hours, till we usher 2022 out the door. Personally speaking it's been a passable year but from a wider perspective there's not so much to be positive about.
I'd like to think that 2023 will see the back of Covid around the world and that Russia will take a step back from their aggressive position in Ukraine. I won't hold my breath though.
Closer to home some progress towards independence for Scotland will brighten things up immeasurably.
Oh well, here's hoping.
When I was a young boy my Mum and Dad, who both hailed from West Lothian, used to speak of being able to get "Soor Dook" off the back of the cart from the Milk Man.
Has anyone ever heard of Soor Dook?
I never thought, when I trained or worked as a GP, that Diphtheria and Polio or, to a large extent, measles, would again be things that I might have to recognise. Nor would I have believed that malnutrition on a scale currently seen would be tolerated by society. I was wrong - how quickly are the hard-fought gains lost.
Argentina, Brazil, France or England. Any one of those four at the moment. But hopefully all four of them will lift their game and the tournament once they get into the last 16.

Sunak warns us of China’s ā€œcreeping authoritarianismā€.
But what does he think his own party’s recent legislation does?

Would he like to comment on the…
Police, Crime & Sentencing Act
Public Order Bill
Bill of Rights Bill
Retained EU Law Bill
Elections Act
Nationality & Borders Act…
And the recent arrest of journalists here…

Because if they don’t represent ā€œcreeping authoritarianismā€ I’m not sure what does.

Everyday life in Schrodinger's Scotland - a curious country which is an entirely voluntary part of a union which it can choose to leave at any point, yet at the same time cannot ask its citizens whether or not they would like to remain in that union without the express permission of another country's government - which that government has guaranteed that it will never grant. #ScottishIndependence #Scotland #Albatraz #IndependenceIsNormal
Fresh bannocks for brekkies. With a bit of cheddar cheese and cup of coffee.
Cannae whack them. 😊
