A NSFW account where I tend to follow and boost and give-compliments-to the various writers, drawers, and models of a whole mess of gay smut.

I may also post knitting, fancy hair, and weird tech jargon when prompted.

@copperreddc

But said social anxiety also means I get REAL TETCHY when an admin doesn't go with "Well shit, sign up here if you vibe with the rules *link to how to move*"

or

"Here's everything that seems to have happened up to the meltdown in that other server and what we try to do here to prevent that sort of thing."

but... instead... falls somewhere in between?

Makes all mastodon servers feel like ticking time-bombs just waiting for the right drama to hit before they blow...

How I often feel these days.

C'mon, peeps, if you're afraid to give up your fascist transphobic safety net, at least expand your audience with some alternate/backup sites to post updates.

"I want to go to bed earlier and wake up earlier too"

*My dog, being ever so helpful and giving me a solstice present:

I'MMA PUKE UP THIS POPCORN ON THE BED AT 4:45 AM

*RETCHING NOISES*

Me, trapped in a submersible 12,500 feet below the ocean with four people as the pilot desperately bangs out an S.O.S. on the hull:

“Many believe the Titanic was one of the first vessels to use SOS as a distress signal, but it had actually been in wide use since the 1906 Berlin Conference!”

The whole reason they want 'cis' to be a slur is because they do not want to be named.

The unnamed is the default normal. If you have a label, you are a sub-category. To them, this feels like a downgrade.

But we are all lots of little sub-categories of humans - some with clear and well-known labels, some with fuzzy edges and differing uses. That's OK. There's nothing wrong with being a member of a sub-category of human. That is, in fact, normal. Because there is no singular 'normal' human.

In case anyone needed a reason to stay on this website instead of the other website
The whole idea of the Fediverse is that it's decentralized, so no random selection of admins deciding they are going to block Meta's server(s) matters. If you want to federate with Meta you can easily move to a server that does. We do not need to argue about whether Meta is good or bad for the fediverse because it doesn't matter even a little.

Yes, Mastodon still has huge problems with "HOA racism" and user safety. But there is a "path to green" for all of these problems. And people (including me! 🙋🏿‍♂️) are working on them.

Yes, the current version of ActivityPub is not ready for what's coming. But again, too many of the world's best SREs and API designers are now poking ActivityPub with a stick again, now that the scale constraints have changed.
