What the Hell is Going On with Framework’s Socials?

People are up in arms that they’re cozying up to fascists. I’m mad they’ve abandoned non-ghastly social networks.

@paul that thing in the front right looks out of place. Why did they put it there instead of underneath like a normal computer.
@caseyliss it’s too bad the Ubiquiti NAS software is still so early that it’s too basic to replace my Synology. This kind of thing pushes me more toward unraid + Immich
@technotim do you have a collection of the models somewhere? I think I need to spend time to clean up my rack :)

@caseyliss @dinomite I also use the HS WD200+, I ordered them directly from homeseer, they’re a small company and things ship from NH and come pretty quick on the east coast.

I use the LEDs to track status of the house, like doors open/closed and whether it’s trash day.

@technotim I love that one. I have a few sprinkled around the house, I wish they had an inverted color scheme on that one

@siracusa everyone is reacting to the feeling of buyers remorse for wanting to buy fancy new things in the world of mature products. These people all want it to feel like a big update to help justify their annual updates.

I upgraded from a 13 Pro and I’m really enjoying the jump. Finally having the Dynamic Island is so nice and I am happy to finally have USB-C.

@geerlingguy congrats to you and your family.
@film_girl this must be part of their whole workaround for not having to use APIs and use their large action models. It’s basically something like selenium and they literally have a VM that your session is running on persistently somewhere. This is a wild design choice because I bet it is incredibly expensive infrastructure.
@stucki I’ve seen a couple small sales, they did a holiday season sale this past year on the UDM, NVRs and that’s really about it. I’m guessing it’s not in their model given the nature of most sales being to businesses.
