Award winning author, screenwriter and playwright. Author of seven theatrical scripts that were produced on stage, the novel Thirty-three Cecils — which won the top fiction prize at The London Book Festival, is required high school and university reading — and three other traditionally published books. De Morier has two films currently in development, one of which will star Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman.

Fun weekend. I have the two gentleman that are working in the Chinatown book and film project with me, coming to town. We are celebrating a big step — which I soon will be able to announce — and the the three of us, the president of the literary agency, the literary agency and the producer of CRIMINAL MINDS have a zoom call to discuss creating a new series based on the project.

@haikushack @edteja @bookstodon But a typical traditionally published book goes through twenty-one edits; fourteen in pre production and seven in post. A lot more heavy lifting involved for an eight percent royalty — so you often need to sell a lot more than a hundred. Often the publisher budgets on you selling the first print run. Doesn’t always happen, but that’s the plan.
