lgbt+ representation in my current WIP:

>mc is gay
>love interest is pansexual
>major friend is nonbinary
>friend has transfemme girlfriend
>mc's cousin comes out as a lesbian

honestly, this is the most I've put in a single book, but at 28 characters so far, it's also the longest character list period.

I am on the verge of looking at "the penny hoarder" for articles on side-gig opportunities and I feel like I'm getting desperate.

can't tell if I'm stuck at trying to name a burger restaurant or stuck because it's finally hit me this WIP is probably going to be 100k+ and the immensity of the task is hitting me like a punch to the face.

it's happened with almost every book of that size so far.

currently procrastinating because I cannot think of a good name for a burger restaurant.
today's answer: we wait because I haven't included enough ✨ foreshadowing ✨ that he has alcoholism! :D

inflicting misery on charcters in writing be like "hmmm, the cat's already dealing with depression now, do I add in alcoholism before the otherworldy guardian angel drops or after?"

and yes, this type of weird question IS my writing "brand".

thinking of addressing large groups of people as "freaks, geeks, and all things in-betweext".

"I have killed my affection for Harry Potter. I have buried it. I am refusing to allow this series space in my life. Trans people are worth more than Rowling is. They are worth more than Rowling’s world. They are worth opening and suturing a wound, and moving past a children’s story. Real people are harmed by Rowling’s rhetoric, and giving her stories more space in our cultural consciousness is harmful to one of the most marginalized groups of people in the world."

Keep Your Memories, Kill Your Nostalgia

Harry Potter is slated for a TV adaptation, but J.K. Rowling's history of transphobic comments means it's up to the fans to leave the Wizarding World behind.

writing energies would also help here, because
1) it's not the main project;
2) it's distracting from the main project when I have trouble writing;
3) I'm vaguely aware that, for me, 3000 words is a decent length for this, so it's fairly easy to get to in 1 to 3 sessions per "bite-sized" thing.
