1. Self care. Do what you can to prepare yourself for what's coming.
2. Build a tight community. Locally. Be very careful online though, especially off of Fedi. If you've been anti Trump on corporate social media, consider scrubbing all of that. No, that's not paranoid. If you think it is, grow up quickly or you're in danger.
3. Prepare to resist. A lot of people will need help to survive.

Hey folks, just wanted to say thanks for all the love & support. I'm in PA now & heading to CT tomorrow...should be there for at least a couple of weeks.
AVL City Water is estimating 6 weeks without water for Swannanoa, and still no electricity. So it might be a while.

Hi friends, I hope you're all well.
Not sure if you've heard about the situation in the Asheville, NC area due to Hurricane Helene, but my town, Swannanoa, got hit really badly.
I'm ok, but my job has temporarily shut down and no one will have running water for at least a month.
As such, I've evacuated & am on my way up north, with cats in tow, to wait it out in safety.
I'm sorry to ask, but f you're able to help, I'm humbly asking & grateful for anything.
