just learned the other day that it's possible to copy to your clipboard over SSH:

- it's a core neovim feature: https://neovim.io/doc/user/provider.html#clipboard-osc52
- @dmitry told me you can write a 1-line shell script that will take stdin and put it in your clipboard, script is here https://jvns.ca/til/vim-osc52/

Taking a break from awful things:

Scientists taught rats to drive cars. The rats quickly learned to rev the engine and take longer routes just for fun.

Bonus: Watch the researcher do a little happy leap when the rat gets into the car.

I’m a neuroscientist who taught rats to drive − their joy suggests how anticipating fun can enrich human life

Equipped with a rodent version of a Cybertruck, these driving rats reveal that positive experiences may sculpt the brain just as powerfully as stressful ones

@simonbs You can add https://developer.apple.com/documentation/swift/tasklocal as it handles injection like environment passing things down the async tree. Would love to hear your talk! I have not found the perfect solution and go back and forth on this one. Currently refactoring to move away from DI that is based on a shared instance. But TaskLocal I like, I think. When you do your talk also have a look at kotlin https://developer.android.com/develop/ui/compose/compositionlocal

🆓 SwiftUIFX is now open source!

Create a SwiftUI view in a Swift package, then add it to Final Cut Pro and render it in your timeline.

Use environment values for the current timeline time to drive SwiftUI animations, preview your view in Xcode while developing, and recompile straight from Final Cut Pro whenever you make a change.

Sorry but when I‘m in a list in iOS, especially with arrows (chevron or what it’s called), I will never expect this transition. Feels completely wrong. A list transition was more or less the same since iPhoneOS 1, why would you change this.

If e.g. I‘m on a grid with album covers and i tap on a cover, then yes. Zoom that thing. It’s cool!

But in a list 🤷🏽‍♂️
