Three weeks ago, I switched my time at the gym from after work..
To before work
I am not a morning person. The thought of waking up at 5 am too get out the door and be at the gym before work was something I never thought I'd do.
Three weeks later, I'm loving it
Arms and abs today!
10k last night
1.5 mile lunch walks today
Feeling great!!!
I'm not the fastest runner
I have a hard time getting out that door at times.
Today I was just going to go for 10k.
That turned into 8 miles
Then 10
Finally I was like"I'm back in my neighborhood so let's go for another 5k (3.1 miles) and see if another 13.1 is possible since hogsbrook half 2 months ago
Mile 11 was rough
Mile 12 was even tougher
I was like "I can get this last mile in, come on!"
It took me 4 hours
I beat my previous 13.1 by 20 minutes
Holy cow!
I'm beat, I'm sore, and I'm proud
2 half marathon distances in 60 days
Not bad at all for me :)
Hey folks! I'm a sysadmin for an msp. I recently took up running at the lovely young age of 40 a couple of years ago and just completed my first half marathon a month ago. Certified in A+, Network+, Security+ and Pentest+. Going after Cysa+ exam in January as well. I'm also a NSFW site writer and I love to stream retro games on my twitch a few nites a week at twitch.tv/speedrunningwithdoolz.
I'm always more than happy to connect with and meet new people!
It's cold....
It's windy
But darn it, I need my recovery lunch walk! 😆
