19th century French lit/cultural history fan, asst. prof of practice of French, lover of Lincoln (NE). Not a fan of more, much prefer enough. Got me a cat, a husband, and a rental full of plants. I read widely, walk far, vote often and early, and teach a lot.

Decolonisation and Legal Knowledge

Decolonisation and Legal Knowledge - Reflections on Power and Possibility; The law is heavily implicated in creating, maintaining, and reproducing racialised hierarchies which bring about and preserve acute global disparities and injustices. This essential book provides an examination of the meanings of decolonisation and explores how this examination can inform teaching, researching, and practising of law.

@SonyaKDR My pleasure! Hope you're able to get a morning walk in today 😁
@SonyaKDR Hi! 👋🏻 Fellow #PlantMom who #LovesWalking here. Welcome, welcome!!
@mirakamdar Oh, wow! Small world. I can only imagine how horrified they would be today.
@mirakamdar Un grand merci depuis Nebraska, état sur le précipice. We are about to elect a man with no experience in governing, whose claim to fame is in livestock, and who vows to put prayer in public schools. Sigh. Joyeux anniversaire, though! 🌷

We're a few days into the current wave of #TwitterMigration, and we're all excited for all the #NewHere folks to have joined.

But please be mindful you are joining a social network that was not a barren, desolate desert before. It was a blooming, cozy garden.

It's not just about finding your old connections from  , it's also about making new valuable connections with folks on here, who might have moved years ago, or who might have never had an account on hellbird.

I have a lot of first-time voters in my classes this semester, so I sent all of my students an email containing:
* Voting hours
* Secretary of State website links to 1) polling place lookup and 2) ID requirements (if any)
* Ballotpedia link to state ballot measures incl. endorsements and donors
* Provisional ballot information
* Social media links to trusted sources on voting/elections

Esp if your colleague/university isn’t sending voting reminders, I encourage you to do the same! #Vote
